Filling out a Tag

Use the "unlined" side of an index card

1. Draw a line approx 3/4" down from the top - this is where you will pin the tag onto your item

All writing will go BELOW this line

2. TOP RIGHT CORNER - write the item's size

For items with a size range - round up -
(ex: for 3-6 months use 6 months, 6-12 months use 12 months, 7-8 use 8)

For items sizes Small, Medium, Large, etc, use your best numeric estimate.

3. BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER - write the item's price

    Price in whole-dollar increments only (for example, $2.00, $3.00, $4.00 $5.00)

All CLOTHING items must have a minimum price of $2.00

(you may hang or bundle more than one item together to get to the $2.00 minimum if necessary)

All OTHER ITEMS must have a minimum price of $1.00

4. BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER
If you want the item to sell for 50% off during Sunday's 50% off sale,
place a "RED STAR" above the price - large enough so that it is clearly visible.
*** PLEASE consider including your items in the 50% off sale - if you choose not to, your items WILL still
be available for purchase at full price on Sunday, but shoppers will generally "shop around" full-priced items at the 50% off sale.

5. BOTTOM LEFT CORNER - write your assigned consignor #
(This number will be used to track your sale so be sure to write it legibly)

6. TOP LEFT CORNER - write a "D" for "donate" if you choose to donate this item if it is left unsold.
(All unsold items  will be available for pick-up Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008 between 4pm and 5pm.)
OR we will have representatives from local charities that will picking up unsold items designated as donations)
**** NOTE: All items MUST be picked up during the designated time on Sunday as we are required to be out of the building -
ALL items not picked up within the times designated become the property of The Stork Lady Kids Sale. ****

7. CENTER - write item description

Include things like color, brand & how many pieces are in the outfit (be clear so that if your tag gets separated from the item, we can figure out which item it goes with!)

If the item is "new" or "barely used' include that info as well

Mention any special features that the buyer would want to know

ATTACHING TAGS TO CLOTHING

Attach tags to clothing using a SAFETY PIN or TAGGING GUN

(For reasonably priced tagging guns:  Check eBay OR Store Supply Warehouse (located at Page & 170 or shop online) OR check Office Depot & OfficeMax)

*** We recommend the short 1" - 2" plastic barbs to load the tag gun. ***

Attach tag to either the garment's label in the neckline OR
to a RIGHT-hand seam (at the shoulder, neckline, underarm, etc - on the RIGHT side of the garment).

**** PLEASE, please do NOT pin or attach directly into the clothing fabric as it often
LEAVES A HOLE - this is extremely frustrating to the buyer when they discover it at home!

ATTACH TAGS TO CLOTHING LABEL OR RIGHT HAND SIDE OF CLOTHING ONLY:

ATTACHING TAGS TO OTHER ITEMS (toys, baby gear, etc).

Attach tags to items using CLEAR PACKING TAPE

Place a single piece of clear, packing tape all the way across the top 3/4 of the tag

In some cases, it is easier to attach tags w/ a hole-punch and string or ribbon.

OR use quick, easy and inexpensive plastic ZIP TIES
(available at Home Depot or Lowes)
